"The careless and
slipshod 'investigation' in failing to quote the Scriptures and Synodical
statements of fellowship practices is unacceptable
and does not meet the requirements of a thorough investigation which 2.27
demands."
In his decision on the Benke, case Wallace Schulz quotes 1 Timothy 3:16,
Acts 17:11, Philippians 3:20-21, Matt. 18:15-16, Matt. 18:15-16, 2
Corinthians 5:10, Acts 5:29, and Matthew 16:27.
On July 26th Werning writes: "The 'ruling' by Schulz has 7 pages, and
there is not one of those Bible verses in it."
Werning's writing about Wallace Schulz are as bizarre as his writings
about the Trinity. Readers are welcome to examine the Benke ruling
by Wallace Schulz on http://www.reclaimingwalther.org/articles/ws000001.htm
and count the Bible passages for themselves.
Werning also continues to maintain that he experiences God in three ways.
As published in his book "Health and Healing For the LCMS"
Werning writes about the Trinity on pages 33-34 as follows:
1. "experiencing God in a three-fold manner."
2. "three manners of being (God above us, God among us, God in
us),"
3. "three levels of reality (nature, history, existence)"
4. "three ways in which God reveals Himself"
5. "three forms of address [from God] ('You shall!,' 'You may!,' 'You
can!')"
6. "one of the three ways in which God has revealed Himself"
Werning writes on June 19, 2002 ". . . the Scriptures and the
catechism show that Christians do encounter God, that is experience God in
His might acts."
"Jesus First" and the South Wisconsin District President, Ron
Meyer have publicly endorsed Werning's writings about the Trinity.
How can Werning claim that Christians, but not the heathen, experience God
in His mighty acts? Where does it say in the Bible that Christians,
but not the heathen, experience God?
This writer believes that we all experience what God has made. The
creation is physical evidence that God exists. However, fanatics
like Werning actually claim to experience God Himself.
No one is experiencing God. God only has one manner of being, is
only one reality, has only one revelation, and one form of address.
As Paul writes, Ephesians 4:3 "Endeavouring to keep the unity of the
Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as
ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one
baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all,
and in you all."
It is becoming more apparent that "Jesus First" and District
Presidents like Ron Meyer are using Werning to promote a new definition or
God in the LCMS.
Once again we ask Werning, "Did God die on the Cross?"
