       The
      Benke Defense Team at Benkedefenseteam@aol.com
      (A. K. A. Don Matzat) is requesting the identity of email participants on
      Lutheran Quest.

They are asking that the identity of Internet users be sent to:

      Alan R. Pollack

      APollack@capvish.com

      Capell & Vishnick, LLP
      3000 Marcus Avenue
      Lake Success, NY 11042
      516-437-4385 ext. 116
      Fax: 516-437-4395

Evidently, these are Benke's attorneys in New York. We can assure all
Luther Quest users and Reclaim News recipients that no one's name,
identity, or email is going to be turned over to any law firm or anyone
else for any reason at any time. The Benke Defense Team gave no reason why
they wanted the identities of these Internet users.

      At this time the Benkedefenseteam@aol.com
is no longer a working email address.  We believe the Benke Defense
Team is attempting to threaten, harass, and silence those who publicly
agree with Dr. Wallace Schulz's decision to suspend Benke.
Benke, an LCMS District President, was one of many clergy who offered
public prayers along with pagan clergy at Yankee Stadium.  At no time
in the Bible did Christ or any of the Apostles include their prayers with
pagan prayers. Many in the COP, as well as the Synodical President, now
seek to pray in public with pagan clergy.

In response to any lawsuit file by "The Benke Defense Team" the
first two depositions will be taken from Dr. Gerald Kieschnick and Dr.
David Benke.  In 1989, when Dr. Alvin Schmidt sued us over charges
that he was promoting woman ordination, the Synod bought off
(de-indemnified) our insurance company before we could depose President
Ralph Bohlmann.  Schmidt filed a 128-paragraph suit in Allen County,
Indiana, naming Robert Preus, Jack Cascione, Fort Wayne, and the LCMS.
Our insurance carrier, "Church Mutual" stopped defending the
case once the Synod promised to pay all costs.  The LCMS Board of
Directors paid Schmidt an estimated $40,000.00 to drop his case.

Let's see what happens this time. |
