President Kieschnick, were you not involved and one of those who endorsed
the Pastoral Leadership Institute from the beginning?

You are aware that the 2001 Convention did not agree with PLI?

In a documented presentation given by the PLI Executive Leader, Rev. Norb
Oesch, he very plainly states the concept of not waiting for approval from
anyone, but to forge ahead, "cart before the horse" and
implement the program. - PSWD Workshop, June 1997.

Did the LCMS Board of Directors give you their approval to challenge Dr.
Schulz's decision to suspend Dr. Benke?

Did the other elected members of the Praesidium give you their approval to
challenge Dr. Schulz's decision to suspend Dr. Benke?

Did the Synod in emergency session give you their approval to challenge
Dr. Schulz's decision to suspend Dr. Benke?

Did you actually search the Scriptures, pray about your decision and seek
solid, spiritual and Biblical counsel and question your theological
      counsel?

Did you seek counsel from the faculties of our two Seminaries, where some
of Synod's top theologians are located?

On what scriptural grounds did your decision take place?

Dr. Wally Schulz was given a mandate by the members of the Praesidium who
were not recused, (such as yourself and Rev. Preus,) and he was instructed
by them to make a decision after reviewing all facts, documents,
testimony, etc.. He took his time and went through what was more than
likely a painful, emotional and excruciating process before making his
      decision. - Public Knowledge

But because PLI supporters and like ilk did not agree with Dr. Schulz's
decision, you flew off the handle, ignored due process and from your own
feelings, emotions and prejudicial recommendations from your consultants,
and in mine and many others' opinions, made a disgustingly, appalling and
      wrongful decision - Public Knowledge.

I am truly concerned about the type of leadership taught our pastors by
PLI, when you are a representative of this type of thinking. Your acts
      surely seem to reflect this!

Shame on you President Kieschnick, shame on you.

Was Congressman Ackerman comparing Rev. Benke to the Rev. Martin
Niemoeller, who put his life on the line when he defended his faith and
his teaching and because of his belief and teaching, was rewarded with
almost eight years in concentration comps in "protective
      custody" by the Nazis?

      www.us-israel.org/jsource/biography/niemoeller.html

Or was Congressman Ackerman comparing Rev. Benke to the Rev. Niemoeller
who "sold out" to the Russians when the Soviet Union awarded the
Lenin Peace Prize to him accompanied by $11,000, which he sent to Red
North Vietnam after having openly denounced the United States of America?

Or the Rev. Niemoeller who accepted money from the government that had
out-Hitlered Hitler in bloody executions and cruel confinement of
innocents who asked for nothing more than to live in peace and freedom?

Or when Rev. Niemoeller became President of the World Council of Churches
and as President of the World Council of Churches campaigned and demanded
the legalization of the Communist Party in West Germany? - "News
      & Views" Vol. 41, No. 6, June 1978.

You were there in New York, and you permitted and were part of the
shameful spectacle that took place to destroy the name and reputation of
      Dr. Wallace Schulz - www.lutherquest.org/discus/index.html

Tell me President Kieschnick, to which Rev. Niemoeller was Congressman
Ackerman comparing Rev. Benke? The pastor who knew what God intended him
to be, a shepherd and a protector of the faith, or the pastor who broke
Holy Scriptures and also broke the rules?

It is not Dr. Schulz who broke his ordination vows, but Rev. David Benke
      and you, yourself!

I am appalled and tremble with anger at the disdain and arrogance you have
shown not only to the members of Synod but to the lay people as well,
"nonmembers of Synod" supporting the LCMS with our gifts, time
and talents. What you have done is wrong, you know it and yes, I do know I
have the right "as a sheep to judge my/our shepherds."

The decision you have made is un-Christian and an unethical, deliberately
calculated act, which I believe will weigh on you heavily for years to
come. Dr. Schulz is a servant of God and you and all others will have to
face and answer your Maker for the attacks and vicious innuendoes levied
      against him.

Can you again become a true servant of the Lord and withdraw your attacks
      against Dr. Schulz?

Can you humble yourself and ask the forgiveness of those whom you have
been given the responsibility of leading, such as we sheep? "For the
wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh
the wise in their own craftiness." 1 Corinthians 3:19

Can you do the Christian and honorable thing and resign as the President
of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod? "He that getteth wisdom loveth
his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good."
      Proverbs 19:8

Micah 6:8 - "....and what does the Lord require of you? To act justly
and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

      know me."
