LCMS Praesidium Does Not Agree With Werning's Charges Against Cascione

By: Rev. Jack Cascione

On October 4, 2002 , Dr. Werning filed three charges to the LCMS Praesidium against Pastor Jack Cascione.  Below are the first sentences of each of Werning's charges.

1. "Rev. Cascione failed to obey and pursue Biblical procedures, especially Matthew 18 and the Eighth Commandment, and provisions and of the LCMS Constitution and Bylaws when a pastor of the LCMS has a complaint against another pastor."

2. "Rev. Cascione in publishing his false allegations has violated the Scriptural imperatives of Matthew 18 and the Eighth Commandment, and the LCMS church procedures in its Constitution and Bylaws for bringing a complaint against a brother pastor and in correcting him if he is wrong."

3. "Rev. Cascione has made doctrinal and theological statements that are contrary to the Scriptures."

[a] "Rev. Cascione maintains that all of God died on the cross on Good Friday"

[b] "Rev. Cascione does not believe that God answers prayer and confuses the entire issue of our communication with God."

[c] "Rev. Cascione claims that, 'All Theology is Christology.'"

In its April 21, 2003 letter signed by Dr. Paul L. Maier, 4th Vice President of the LCMS and Secretary of the Praesidium, not one of Werning's charges against Cascione were substantiated.

Yet, the South Wisconsin District Officers love, defend, and confess Werning 's lies about God!

If I tell the truth about the Trinity I can't be guilty of breaking the Eight Commandment when I denounce Werning's false doctrine.  However, a man is guilty of breaking the Eighth Commandment in the South Wisconsin District because he wants to keep the First Commandment?

It has been two years since Dr. Waldo Werning published his false doctrine about the Trinity in his book, "Health and Healing For the LCMS." A free copy was sent to every 2001 LCMS Convention delegate.

The South Wisconsin District (SWD) Circuit 22 Counselor, Rev. Ronald P. Krug, and 4th Vice President, Rev. Paul Borgman, published letters supporting Werning's doctrine of the Trinity.  They also published that Cascione was guilty of breaking the Eighth Commandment for condemning Werning's doctrine of the Trinity.

SWD President, Ron Meyer, wrote a letter dated 07/09/01 endorsing Werning's published doctrine of the Trinity.  In his letter he also informed the Synod that my objections were "hurtful" and accurate."

Why is District President Ron Meyer more concerned about protecting Werning's false doctrine about the Trinity than the ten's of thousands of souls he is elected to protect from false doctrine?

Werning's outrageous false doctrine about the Trinity has been sent out to the entire Synod from the SWD and endorsed by the SWD President.

None of the three SWD officials made and effort to talk with me before they wrote their letters supporting Werning's false doctrine.  None of them will respond to my letters addressed to them.  Yet, these "servants of the Word" continue to hide behind their SWD offices to condemn me.

For almost two years I was convinced that Ron Meyer knew exactly what he was doing when he endorsed Werning's false doctrine.  I even wrote that his office door was the gate to hell because he endorsed a teaching clearly in violation of the Athanasian Creed.  It is not possible for the two of us to disagree on the Athanasian Creed and both have eternal life.

A high placed Synodical official pointed out my error and told me that the SWD President honestly doesn't understand the doctrine of the Trinity. At this time I must apologize for my remark about Meyer's door.  When he leads people to a lie about the Trinity he is not aware of what he is doing.

However, if you read the Athanasian Creed, there is no excuse for ignorance:

It states: "Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic [i.e., universal, Christian] faith.  Which faith except everyone do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly."

If I have lied about God, then I should die a liar's death and receive the eternal damnation as stated in the Athanasian Creed.  But, if I'm telling the truth about God, which one of the SWD Pastors will have eternal life after they joyously reelect Ron Meyer as their District President?

Why should they let a problem with God's identity interfere with the smooth operation of the SWD?
