Speakers and Topics Details

Friday

12:15 PM "Evolution: From False Science To False Religion" by Dr. David Menton

Menton had an earned doctorate in Cellular Biology and 35 years experience teaching at Washington University in St. Louis.  He is one of the leading experts in America on the false science that claims cells evolve into higher organisms.  Menton is the most eminent Lutheran "creationist" in the world today.

1:15 PM "Walther's Influence on African Americans" by Rev. Elder McCants

McCants is a black LCMS pastor, educator, and radio broadcaster.  He will speak about the unique contribution and importance of Walther's "Church and Ministry" on Afro-American Lutheran Congregations.  All too often, black congregations in America are subject to hierarchical and even tyrannical clergy control.  Historically, no church body has given its lay people more freedom under the Gospel than the LCMS.

2:15 PM "Voters' Assemblies: A Better Choice Than Clergy or Corporate Hierarchy" by Rev. Jack Cascione

Resolution 7:17A reaffirmed Walther's "Church and Ministry," as the official position of the LCMS at its 2001 Convention.  As of 2003, we are appalled to report that the two LCMS Seminaries, the Council of District Presidents, and the LCMS Praesidium have not agreed in public with the 2001 LCMS Convention that Walther's "Church and Ministry" teaches the only official polity endorsed by the Synod for all LCMS congregations.  Walther's "Church and Ministry" teaches a clear Biblical basis for congregational polity instead of Episcopal and corporate hierarchy.  The spread of Romanism and clergy hierarchy must be stopped in the LCMS.

3:15 PM "Faith, Truth, Conscience and the Historic Episcopacy" by Pastor Roger C. Eigenfeld

Eigenfeld is the senior pastor of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota - a congregation of 8700 baptized souls in the ELCA and past president and one of the founders of the 'WordAlone Network.' This organization was formed in opposition to the ELCA's agreement to enter into fellowship with the Episcopal Church in America and adopt its polity of historic episcopacy. Eigenfeld will explain how the mandatory imposition of the historic episcopacy upon the clergy of the ELCA (a practice which is not only Christian fiction, but in direct conflict with Article VII of the Augsburg Confession) has pulled the ELCA away from its Lutheran roots and pushed it into the boiling pot of ecumenical impotency. Missouri must stop those who want to follow the ELCA."

4:15 PM "Law and Gospel and the Koran" by Rev. Thomas C. Pfotenhauer

Pfotenhauer is a retired WELS pastor, the grandson of past LCMS President Pfotenhauer, and the translator of "Islam in the Crucible: Can it Pass the Test" by Riccoldo da Montrecroce and Martin Luther.  Pfotenhauer will draw comparisons between Walther's "Law and Gospel" and the teaching of the Koran.  Pfotenhauer has been researching this subject for 20 years.

7:00 PM "Yankee Stadium Prayer Service Video and Analysis" by Rev. Charles Henrickson

What actually happened at Yankee Stadium?  Henrickson will present an overview of everything that took place at "The Prayer For America" as televised on September 23, 2001.  Response: "ORIGINS OF THIS CRISIS AND A SOLUTION" by Rev. Herman Otten.

Saturday

9:15 AM "Putting Missouri Back On Track" by Dr. Kurt Marquart

Marquart will address the challenges now facing the LCMS in its 2004 Convention and the bureaucratic labyrinth that is replacing Biblical doctrine and practice in the LCMS.  Congregations must maintain their control of the LCMS.  Marquart is a candidate for the LCMS Presidency in 2004.

10:15 AM "Disenfranchised Lay People and Corrupting the Soul" By Governor Albert Quie

Albert H. Quie, former Congressman and Governor, chair of the "WordAlone Network" Board and active ELCA layman, will speak from a laypersons viewpoint based on the following three statements.
1. If the church forces people to do what they don't believe in, it will corrupt the soul.
2. In the ELCA there is a great disconnect between congregations and the church wide organization.
3. Life in Christ is more than reason, resolutions and politically correct values.

11:15 AM - Panel Discussion: "The Future of The ELCA and LCMS"

Participants: Rev. Roger C. Eigenfeld, Professor Kurt Marquart, Governor Albert Quie
