Benke's Request for Correction Forwarded to Readers
By Rev. Jack Cascione

We extend our apologies to Atlantic District President Dr. David Benke and forward his own words as a correction to the previous release.

Jack,

There's an error in this release. Dr. Kieschnick has not "exonerated" me relative to the doctrinal charges lodged by five pastors against me for "syncretism." The case against me is open and has not yet been heard or dealt with in any way by the Office of the President, LCMS. You may want to make that clear, since the entire matter is being watched so closely - it's a relatively major error of fact.

Advent peace in Christ,

Dave Benke

In this writer's opinion, many of the questions about President Benke's participation in the "Prayer Service" at Yankee Stadium would be put in an entirely different light if he would be so kind as to address a response to the following question:

"Is Jesus Christ the only Savior of the world, and are all those who seek salvation in any other God than Jesus Christ eternally lost?"

As uncomfortable as this question may be, it is the kind of question, which many martyrs answered in the affirmative.

I can assure President Benke that the thousands who read Reclaim News would appreciate his answer.
