Kieschnick, Hanegraff, Wally Schulz & Benke Case
By Rev. Jack Cascione

President Gerald Kieschnick was a guest on Hank Hanegraff's "Bible Answer Man" on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. After President Kieschnick explained the Lord's Supper Hank stated, "Let me clarify this, you do not believe in transubstantiation and you do not believe (meaning LCMS Lutherans) in baptismal regeneration, is that correct?" To this Kieschnick simply stated, "That's correct".

The copy was received as follows:

Hanegraff: "Two points: One is, you do not believe in transubstantiation, as you just indicated. The other is, you do not believe in baptismal regeneration."

Kieschnick; "That is correct."

President Kieschnick could not be on the LCMS clergy roster if he didn't believe in baptismal regeneration. The radio talk show format may not be suited for President Kieschnick.

The Bible and Luther's Small Catechism state: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" Titus 3:5

Rev. Gerald B. Kieschnick's next counter plan:

Reclaim News has received information that President Kieschnick may plan to counter Rev. Dr. Wallace R. Schulz's decision after next week's interviews using a loophole called a plebiscite. He may mail a letter to all LCMS congregations to vote to support his decision and count the votes based on the size of the congregation. This will give the 'PLI' and Church Growth' supporters more votes than the smaller churches.

At this time it remains to be scene what President Kieschnick will actually do after Dr. Wallace Schultz announces his decision on the Benke case.
